The 1975 and Mumford & Sons to headline Latitude Festival

Latitude Festival has announced the line-up for the 2017 edition of celebrations, including Goldfrapp and The Horrors, as well as revealing headliners: The 1975, Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes.

The 12th edition of Latitude will see its legendary Obliesk Arena playing host to: Mancunian purveyors of the kooky and alternative-pop kings, The 1975, former Glastonbury champions, Mumford & Sons and folk band, Fleet Foxes, whom are making their Latitude debut this summer.

Saturday night headliners, Mumford & Sons – who perform at Latitude this year as a UK exclusive – are working with the annual event by curating their own full-day line-up, associated with their current Gentlemen Of The Road takeover.

About their upcoming-project the band has said via NME that “This collaboration with Latitude is one of the most exciting things we’re doing this year”.  They continued: “It’s almost like creating a mix tape with a best friend, but instead it’s a whole day of music, across multiple stages, with 40,000 people!”

Regarding the 1975’s first major festival headline slot, Latitude organiser, Melvin Benn has said: “Following the incredible success of our eleventh edition last year, we had to set the bar high for this year’s festival.  The 1975 have more than proven themselves over the past year and I’m thrilled to give them a well-deserved headline slot.”

Away from the Obliesk Arena, we can expect to see: The Lemon Twigs and Declan Mckenna gracing the BBC Music Stage, Honeyblood and Sunflower Bean putting on stunning performances at the Sunrise Arena, Pixx and Benjamin Francis Leftwitch surprising us with a stunning show at DIY Presents: The Alcove Stage and so many other names playing across a vast number of stages.

Latitude Festival, which will be held at Henham Park, Suffolk between Thursday 13 July and Sunday 16 July, sees the return of Southend-on-Sea’s, The Horrors – who are currently finishing their fifth record – as well as Goldfrapp, who are set to warm up for The 1975 over at the Obliesk Arena

While only the artists performing at Latitude Festival have been mentioned, there is something at the festival to appeal to everybody.  This year, the event plays host to the BBC Young Dancer 2017 Finalists, Disco Yoga and the world’s best traveling dance extravaganza, Hot Dub Time Machine, which makes its Latitude debut.

Latitude Festival 2017 takes place from Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 July, at Henham Park, Suffolk.  Grab your ticket via the official website.  The full line-up announcement can be seen via the image below.
