It’s the third week of the Gigslutz July Video Vote! We’ve previously featured ‘I’ll Get Mine’ by PINS, and ‘Narrow Spines’ by Adam Cleaver. This week, it’s the turn of Brighton-based Ska & Soul group, The Meow Meows.
Their video for ‘Young Blood’ was premiered on the site by Gigslutz New Music Editor Mari. She says the track is “an up-tempo plea to the youth of Britain to stand up for their future.” It comes at a time when political views and actions are a mess of uncertainty and unease, so the band’s lyrics hit home harder than usual.
The striking visuals – which are primarily black, white, and red – are as striking as the Meow Meows’ sound. Watch, enjoy – and don’t forget to vote!
