Alt Pop-Rockers Bare Roots release epic single ‘Always’

Following a whirlwind debut summer, Tyneside’s pioneering alt pop-rock fivesome, Bare Roots, have unveiled their third single ‘Always.’

The band – who have enjoyed performing to sell-out crowds in their native North East throughout this summer season – including performances at Tyneside’s epic three day Stereophonics and Noel Gallagher headlined This is Tomorrow Festival, Hit the North Festival and Stockton Calling – have just put pen to paper on their first publishing deal courtesy of Wipe Out Music (Sleaford Mods, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Holy Moly & The Crackers).

They will release their first single – ‘Always’ alongside the publisher, representing a breakthrough year for the group.

‘Always’ a heartfelt, brooding alt. Pop-rocking 3-minute tribute to Bare Roots’ singer-songwriter Ant Francis’ mum, represents a band that is at the peak of its early powers combined with the ability to nurture the inner dark side.

Speaking ahead of its release, Ant Francis said: “The track discusses the struggles of growing up in a single-parent household.

“The track was first written a few years ago while was still living at my Mum’s house and on reflection, the track uncovers me realising she isn’t superhuman. She has dealt with an extreme amount over the years and this song recognises that.

“We’ve tried different methods on the track we hope it will surprise a few people who are used to our more raucous numbers.

“Not only is the aesthetic of the track very different to what has come before it, lyrically we feel it’s fairly original and we are proud of all the elements.”

Drawing on influences from bands like Pearl Jam and The War On Drugs, Bare Roots set out to make a statement with their debut release ‘Ride The Wave’ earlier in 2019 followed by their second release, the anthemic and highly infectious ‘Away Too Long’.

‘Always’ is out now via Spotify and all good digital stockists.
