Alvvays announce second album and new single ‘In Undertow’

Toronto-based band Alvvays have announced their second record Antisocialities will be released on September 8 via Polyvinyl Records.

The first official taste of Antisocialities is the album’s first track ‘In Undertow’, which can be streamed via Youtube, now.  Other songs on the LP include ‘Plimsoll Punks’, ‘Lollipop (Ode To Jim’) and ‘Saved by a Waif’.

Molly Rankin from the band has said via press release that “this record is a fantasy breakup arc and my life nearly imitated art”.  Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Antisocialities is the follow-up to Alvvays’ self-titled debut, which was released in 2014.

As well as revealing details concerning their new album and releasing a shimmering fresh song into the world, Alvvays are not stopping there – the five-piece has also announced plans to tour the UK in August/September 2017.

The band will grace Glasgow’s St.Luke’s (August 27), Southampton’s Talking Heads (29) as well as Manchester’s Gorilla (September 7) and Bristol’s Thekla (9), among others. For a full list of Alvvays upcoming UK tour dates, see below.
