Ibiza Rocks and Mallorca Rocks have really stepped up to the mark for their 2014 festivities, announcing today (February 25th) that Clean Bandit, Bombay Bicycle Club and Tinie Tempah are among some of the acts music lovers will be partying with on the White Isle this summer.
With two of the biggest breakthrough bands of the year already having been announced – HAIM and The 1975 – the festivals have not disappointed by adding Ibiza hero’s Rudimental, Bastille and Ed Sheeran, who played both the Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks opening parties two years ago, to their sixteen week-long summer line-up. With HAIM opening the string of summer shows, The 1975 take on the second week of festivities with support from NME’s Best New Band nominee Wolf Alice.
When speaking to Gigwise about playing the festivalsm, Dan Smith of Bastille said “We can’t wait to play Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks again.” “We’re really happy to have been asked back this year”. Bastille is set to perform on the 8th week of the festival, following on from electronic quartet Rudimental who perform the week before, on the 29th and 30th July.
The line-up this year also boasts the likes of superstar electronic musician Skrillex, who is sure to deliver a mesmerising set at Mallorca Rocks later this summer. Promoter Shane Murray said “We’ve been trying to get Skrillex for a long time so that’s going to be a huge Mallorca show”.
Joining Skrillex exclusively at Mallorca Rocks is Clean Bandit, who has recently shot to mainstream fame, due to 2014’s number one single ‘Rather Be’. Making their Rocks debut last year, supporting Brit Award winner Ellie Goulding, the UK’s most promising band will return to the White isle to make their headline debut under the stars in August.
To top off the already brilliant line-up, The Ibiza Rocks closing party will be headlined for the first time by giants Bombay Bicycle Club. On the back of their recent UK number 1 album ‘So Long See You Tomorrow’, Bombay Bicycle Club are sure to make a splash and create a historic moment at this year’s Mediterranean event.
This year’s summer will see the celebration of Ibiza Rocks’ 9th and Mallorca Rocks 4th birthday; events that are surely not to be missed headlined by some of the biggest international artist and freshest DJ’s that are sure to create a frenzy.
