Today, Kele (Kele Okereke) releases his new single, ‘The Heart Of The Wave’, via his own label, KOLA Records / !K7.
Of the single, Kele says “‘The Heart Of The Wave’ started quite absent mindedly. During lockdown I was spending a lot of time playing electric guitar in my room and I found on some of the bleakest days making the swirling guitar loops calmed me down. It was almost like a kind of therapy for me.”
The accompanying visual perfectly depicts the track’s title, exquisitely shot by director, Jack Chute, along the desolate, expansive coastline of Margate. Chute has previously worked with sculptor Sir Antony Gormley OBE and figurative sculptor and hyper-realist artist Matthew Penn.
