British Sea Power announce new studio album ‘Sea Of Brass’

British Sea Power have announced a set of new releases from their Sea Of Brass project, across CD, Vinyl, DVD and a limited-edition box-set, centred around an all-new full studio recording.

Having toured Britain with full, competition-standard brass orchestras, including a sell-out night in the main hall at London’s Barbican Centre, the band have announced an audio-visual series of releases to commemorate these performances. The Sea Of Brass studio album will be available on CD and as a heavyweight vinyl double album. Both CD and vinyl come with high-quality downloads included. The studio versions of the brass arrangements were recorded with the Foden’s Band, a renowned Cheshire-based brass ensemble, formed in 1900. Foden’s Band have won numerous international prizes and in 2012 won a rare brass-band double, being crowned both British Open champions and National Champions of Great Britain.

The studio album is complemented by a separate DVD release, filmed with the Redbridge Brass Band at the Barbican. The London-based Redbridge Brass are a prize-winning brass ensemble and have played memorable shows from Glastonbury to Dubai. The Sea Of Brass DVD package also comes with a live audio CD.

Finally, there’s a deluxe four-disc box-set. The box-set will include the studio album, the DVD, plus the live audio CD of the Barbican show and a further CD of exclusive additional tracks.

All releases are on British Sea Power’s Golden Chariot label. Golden Chariot was the imprint for the band’s first release, the Fear Of Drowning CD, released in DIY style in 2001.
