Chelmsford’s RiZE Festival cancelled

Born via the ashes of the recently-deceased V Festival, it has been announced that Chelmsford’s RiZE Festival has officially been cancelled for 2019.

RiZE Festival shall not be returning to Hylands Park in Chelmsford in 2019.  The event has been cancelled due to last year’s event, which was headlined by Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics, not being “widely successful”.

While the 2018 edition of RiZE did not draw the same respect of that as it’s former glory, V Festival, Chelmsford Council leader Roy Whitehead is still “optimistic” for the future of the event:

“It is a huge hole in the council finances, all of which we can fill with good management. Clearly, we want our residents to get entertainment as much as possible so we are looking at other smaller events that could take place.”

While RiZE Festival is set to be cancelled this summer, it may not be the indefinite end of the V-Festival replacement, with it expected to return significantly smaller and tighter in 2020.

Organiser, Festival Republic, is currently yet to comment on RiZE’s demise.

RIP RiZE Festival.  More news to follow once we receive it.
