Dead Can Dance Release New Track ‘The Mountain’

Taken from their album Dionysus, which is out on 2nd November, the Australian Duo released ‘Act II : The Mountain’.

The new album consists of two acts, which represent the seven movements of legend. Instrumentals incorporate folk, chants and field recordings, which has a worldwide inspiration.

‘The Mountain’ is the first single taken from the sound explosive album, which is the first movement of the second act, Brendan Perry stated, furthering with the fact: “the listener will find themselves visiting Mount Nysa. This mountain was Dionysus’ place of birth, where he was raised by the centaur Chiron, from whom he learned chants and dances together with Bacchic rites and initiations.”

Dionysus was sparked with Perry’s religion and rituals, which birthed a unique twist and dual nature. Names of the different acts are as follows:

ACT I : Sea Borne – Liberator of Minds – Dance of the Bacchantes
ACT II : The Mountain – The Invocation – The Forest – Psychopomp
