DMA’S release new video for ‘Round & Around’

DMA’S’ current album ‘THE GLOW’ represented a huge leap forward for the Australian trio. They infused their euphoric anthems with pulsating alt-pop synths and big beat dynamics, a heady blend which resulted in their highest chart positions of their career. It debuted at #4 in the UK and #2 in Australia, while next year’s UK and Ireland tour will see them headline arenas for the first time.

Now DMA’S maintain that positive momentum by sharing a new video for ‘Round & Around’. The video was premiered live on the big screen at Everton’s Goodison Park, and the resulting footage shows the band’s full-throttle anthem reverberating across the empty stadium. The location was chosen as frontman Tommy O’Dell is a life-long fan of the club as his father’s family are from Liverpool.

The ‘Round & Around’ video explores the band’s roots in NewtownSydney. It features a mix of new and archive footage of the band in their local environment and includes clips of them performing on the roof of The Hotel Marlborough. The video was directed by Steve Lattuca

The band commented, “Around the world stadiums, arenas and venues still lie empty, missing the people that bring them alive. Here’s our new music video for ‘Round & Around’ on the big screen at Goodison Park.”

‘Round & Around’ is the song that best bridges the gap between the band’s forward-facing sound and their love for Britpop, as it progresses from jangly indie guitars into a full-throttle rush of energy. O’Dell’s vocals capture the melancholy of waking up on a Sunday morning and not knowing where life is taking you, yet his power and poise is immediately uplifting. The song was recently chosen as Radio X’s Track of the Week, making it the fourth consecutive DMA’S track to earn that accolade.

The video emerges following the news that DMA’S have been nominated for a remarkable five ARIA Awards– Australia’s equivalent to the BRIT Awards. They’re in contention for Album of the YearBest Rock AlbumBest Independent ReleaseBest Group and Best Live Act. The winners will be revealed on WednesdayNovember 25th

DMA’S have also justperformed live at the prestigious AFL Grand Final. They headlined the biggest Australian rules football match of the year at The Gabba stadium in Brisbane on October 24th
