An introduction to his second album, aptly named Two, Dan Raza is sharing his latest track, ‘Pay Day,’ exclusively on Gigslutz.
Having already grabbed the attention of Neil Young – with track called ‘Every Little Dog,’ written in the wake of the Iraq war featuring on Young’s website – Two, sees Raza step it up even more, and ‘Pay Day’ is a fitting prelude for the album.
‘Pay Day’ is gutsy; it’s gritty, strong and wildly exciting. Yet underneath it, Raza still tackles the song with a certain gentleness, an ability to play with a whole host of emotions. It’s nostalgic – a particularly vintage bluesy highlight of the album – but Raza brings it to today, and presents his songwriting as both relevant and poignant.
