Ahead of the release of their debut EP Now, and a launch show at Sebright Arms tomorrow (7 November) East London four-piece SHINERS are sharing the lead single ‘Generation Y,’ premiering exclusively on Gigslutz.
With ‘Generation Y,’ SHINERS are taking their 90s-drenched sound a step up. With nods to Supergrass – but lyrics that tell tales of festival-goers being bored watching headline acts from yesteryear – SHINERS are proving that, while we can’t doubt the influence of said bands, music belongs to a new breed of musicians.
Speaking about the EP, SHINERS said: “For us this EP has been a long time coming. Because we made the decision to retain creative control of all aspects, particularly with recording and mixing the tracks ourselves, it has been a real labour of love. We’re really proud as it’s the most honest and representative record we’ve made to date. The sound is ultimate SHINERS and it’s just the way we like it!”
