Milan-based punks The Gluts are releasing their new album Estasi via FuzzClub Records on Friday (May 5th), but here at Gigslutz we’ve got exclusive early access to the album, so you can stream the band’s brand new record right now. Estasi is the follow-up to their 2014 debut Warsaw, and it’s an abrasive, ominous collection of sharply produced noise-rock.
From the immersive, all-consuming sound of opening track ‘Colline Bianche’ to the brooding atmospheric closer ‘Home’; it’s impossible to ignore The Gluts’ haunting talent. It’ll be hard to pick a favourite track, but ‘That’s Me’ and recent single ‘Squirrel’ will definitely be strong contenders. The group have the ability to craft tracks that are full of “sonic savagery” (CLASH), but which also demonstrate an enviable sensitivity to tempo, and it’s this skill in particular that makes Estasi so intensely listenable. The Gluts are already earning a strong reputation across Italy, but it won’t be long before they take their angular noise-rock to international waters.
