EXCLUSIVE: Stream The Gluts’ new album ‘Estasi’

Milan-based punks The Gluts are releasing their new album Estasi via FuzzClub Records on Friday (May 5th), but here at Gigslutz we’ve got exclusive early access to the album, so you can stream the band’s brand new record right now. Estasi is the follow-up to their 2014 debut Warsaw, and it’s an abrasive, ominous collection of sharply produced noise-rock.

From the immersive, all-consuming sound of opening track ‘Colline Bianche’ to the brooding atmospheric closer ‘Home’; it’s impossible to ignore The Gluts’ haunting talent. The band’s soundscape is saturated with guitar feedback, melancholic vocals, moody basslines and foreboding drum beats. Whilst their music can be compared to the likes of Drive Like Jehu, Metz, with a gloomy nod to Killing Joke and Bauhaus – The Gluts comfortably exist outside of the shadows of these larger bands.

It’ll be hard to pick a favourite track, but ‘That’s Me’ and recent single ‘Squirrel’ will definitely be strong contenders. The group have the ability to craft tracks that are full of “sonic savagery” (CLASH), but which also demonstrate an enviable sensitivity to tempo, and it’s this skill in particular that makes Estasi so intensely listenable. The Gluts are already earning a strong reputation across Italy, but it won’t be long before they take their angular noise-rock to international waters. Stream Estasi below, and follow the band on Facebook for more updates.
