EXCLUSIVE: Suspects share ‘Making of’ video for ‘Anaphylactic Shock’

Southend punk duo Suspects recently shared their second single ‘Anaphylactic Shock’ with the world, accompanied by a knockout music video that’s an assault on the retinas. Now, the band have given Gigslutz exclusive access to a ‘Making Of’ video, which shows what went on during the chaotic shoot at The Railway pub in Southend.

Frontman Thomas Prescott talks us through what went down on the day:

“The idea for the video came from our friend and long time collaborator Kana Waiwaiku. Myself, James  May (drums) and Kana have all been long time fans of Punk/Hardcore. A lot of the videos we watched growing up all had this raw energy, with people there wanting to be part of something. We wanted the video to be a “blink and you’ll miss it” kind of thing, to go hand in hand with the song’s length (01:15). We also wanted it to be a fast and furious representation of the band.

With help from our record label Cool Thing Records we were able to hire the upstairs of The Railway Hotel in Southend on Sea. Hayley Hill organized everything logistically and Michael Webster (Asylums and BAIT) provided lighting and play back. This gave Kana free reign to achieve the videos intended goal. We also had our Friend Dave Williams come and film the making of to give everyone an insight.

We invited 30-40 friends, family and general music enthusiasts to come and be in the video, and everybody that took part was absolutely fantastic on the night. We appreciate everybody taking the time out of their lives to help us and to be part of something. We had a lot of fun making this, and for those of you who were there and are now reading this: KANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK! (you had to be there). On behalf of everyone at Cool Thing Records and Suspects we thank every single person in this video!”
