Born off the back off This Feeling club nights and festival stages, This Feeling – Alive tour, sees headliners Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band and Blackwaters head out around the UK, supported by more of the best new bands around, to celebrate indie music in 2017 and the power of new bands.

Ahead of the tour, we’re catching up with all the bands involved to find out what makes them tick. Next on the list, Chapel Row, who play in Cardiff…

Describe the band in 3 words.

We love it

And what can people expect from your live shows?

Pure energy, passion, meaningful tunes and a good time.

Funniest gig/tour experience?

We;ve not had a tour yet but we played a Musicians Against Homelessness gig and after our set we carried a friend into the place on a caravan deck chair whilst the other band was playing, perched him right at the front, cushty.

Who would be on your ideal festival lineup (to play alongside)?

While were at it, we;re not stopping until we headline Reading festival – that’s the goal. Wouldn’t mind warming the crowd up for Oasis if they had another blast, be cool to jam with Stereophonics and Foo Fighters too!

Which song do you wish you’d written?

Ace of spades is a fucking cracker!

Who should we be listening to at the moment?

Well Chapel Row of course 😉 nah get a load of  the Merthyr bands they’re all ace! Loads of ’em!

Why are promoters/nights like This Feeling so important?

They are crucial if bands are to get anywhere today, in a world full of digital and auto tune it’s nice to know people still want live music and more importantly guitar music. They are platform for bands like ourselves and we really do appreciate it! What does NME stand for now?? No more entertainment?

Chapel Row play Glee Club, Cardiff w/ Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band
and Blackwaters on 2 October. For tickets and info on other dates visit
