THIS FEELING ALIVE INTERVIEW: The Ruffs

Born off the back off This Feeling club nights and festival stages, This Feeling – Alive tour, sees headliners Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band and Blackwaters head out around the UK, supported by more of the best new bands around, to celebrate indie music in 2017 and the power of new bands.

Ahead of the tour, we’re catching up with all the bands involved to find out what makes them tick. Today, it’s The Ruffs’ turn, ahead of their gig in Nottingham

Describe the band in 3 words

Real, ruff, rock’n’roll

And what can people expect from your live shows?

Massive sounding tunes, all of which are individual and not same same. Full on energy and bollocks, heart on yer sleeve sort of thing.

Funniest gig/tour experience?

Can’t really remember much about many gigs.. not yet toured either

Who would be on your ideal festival lineup (to play alongside)?

Katy Perry for obvious reasons…

What song do you wish you’d written?

‘Live forever’

Who should we be listening to at the moment?

The Ruffs, The Murlocs, King giz, sleaford mods

Why are promoters/nights like This Feeling so important?

Offering a massive platform to upcoming bands what would otherwise struggle like mad to get anywhere near the levels of exposure TF offers. How else can you go from playing club nights to Reading?!

The Ruffs play Glee Club, Nottingham w/ Bang Bang Romeo, The Shimmer Band
and Blackwaters on 11 October. For tickets and info on other dates visit
