This Feeling Track of the Day : Edgar Jones ‘Best Thing’

A regular and revered mainstay of the Mersey scene for 20 years plus (Edgar’s first gig was as bass player for Echo & The Bunnymen’s Ian McCullouch), Edgar is back new record ‘The Song of Day and Night’ out on Coral frontman James Skelly’s Skeleton Key Records, birthplace of Blossoms and Cabbage, Friday 14th April 2017.

The album is already being lauded by those in the know as his best work since 2005’s ‘Soothing Music for Stray Cats’ (Bit of a lost classic. To give you an idea of how good, it was Noel Gallagher’s favourite album that year “It bent my head man”. Get on it) This time out Edgar draws influence from his big love of 60’s stateside soul music labels.

Edgar’s out on a UK tour with fellow Skeleton Key label mates The Sundowners (also with a new album dropping around the same time) + fearsome Brummy 2-piece Cut Glass Kings.
