This Feeling Track of the Day : Otherkin ‘Come On, Hello’

The Otherkin cocktail is a mish-mash of guitar music’s greats. Frontman and guitarist Luke Reilly was a latecomer to the guitar, shifting from a love of hip-hop when he discovered the late 00s’ British Indie boom. Drummer Rob Summons, on the other hand, comes from a hardcore background, while bassist David Anthony exudes that on-stage cool of New York’s post-Strokes renaissance. Guitarist Conor Wynne was raised on an odd combination of both jazz and West Coast punk rock, citing The Offspring, Rancid and Pennywise as early influences. Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ “changed everything for me,” he admits, the iconic record inspiring a then-ten-year-old Conor to teach himself guitar.

So, a heady potent mix indeed, but is it any good? It’s fucking GREAT. New single the banging ‘Come On, Hello’ is the opening track on a monster debut album, released this week. Get it, play it, LOUD.
