Brief History: This year’s festival marks the 10th anniversary of Live At Leeds and has come very far from it’s beginnings back in 2007 as a celebration of Leeds’ 800th birthday. Over the years, the likes of Mumford & Sons, Bombay Bicycle Club, Ed Sheeran, James Blake and Albert Hammond Jr. have played venues around the city. Now partnered with Leeds Digital Festival, the week now incorporates film screenings, panels, debates and many more.

How To Get There: The majority of the venues are in Leeds City Centre and in walking distance of each other. The only venue out of the centre is Brudenell Social Club, which is around a 30-minute walk away, but if that doesn’t take your fancy then a taxi or the 56 bus is your answer!

Gigslutz Top Tip: Plan, plan, plan. Like any festival there’s loads of bands you want to see but only so many hours in the day, so get yourself ready now by checking out their schedule. If you manage to have a spare half an hour then make sure you scout out the smaller bands, who knows they could be the next big thing?

Memorable Moments: Putting huge acts in small venues is a specialty of Live At Leeds so for those lucky enough to have caught The Cribs last year bouncing around the Town Hall, or Palma Violets the year before, it’s the festival to see bands in a way you’ve never seen them before.

What We Said Last Year: From Rat Boy tearing up Leeds Beckett with the notorious messy crowds and stage invasions, to Spector never putting a step wrong, last year’s festival was up there for Gigslutz. Check out what we thought here!

Did You Know: Live At Leeds holds events all through the week, not just the Saturday music event. Why not check out some of the panels, workshops, debates and screenings taking place too? There’s also a football tournament taking place on May 2, so for those who love football, music and food you know how to finish the weekend off. You can find a list of all the events here.

How To Get Tickets: Wristbands are still available from Live At Leeds’ website, and cost just £32.50 for entry to all participating venues.
