A Brief History: Beginning in 2002 as a club night hosted by Groove Armada, Lovebox became an outdoor event the following year, taking place at Clapham Common before moving to Victoria Park in 2005. Although initially a festival for fans of dance, the organisers have since invited acts from across the genres, with performances from Roxy Music, The Flaming Lips, Lana Del Ray, Florence + The Machine, Duran Duran and Bombay Bicycle Club over the years. There’s always a focus on something with a good beat, however, as this year’s line up shows even more than the last few.

Gigslutz Top Tip: LCD Soundystem’s set is their only London date this year, and having only reformed at the end of last year, their performance should be packed with the punch of their gritty synths and disco beats.
Memorable Moments: Every year gets better, with more of a focus on the quirky stages and installations that makes Lovebox a little bit of bohemia-with-bangerz in the capital, so let’s go with last year and festival kings, Rudimental.
Did You Know? There have been many sister festivals organised, including Loveboxes in Newcastle (2004) and Dublin (2007 – 2008), as well as club nights from Brighton – Ibiza.
