A Brief History: Dan Bull (Reviews Editor) summed up the festival’s history in his V 2015 guide: “V Festival (as it officially became known as in 2003) has become a staple of the festival calendar, showcasing a more pop-focussed line-up then some of its contemporaries, but still seeing huge acts including Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon and Eminem headlining.”

How To Get There: Big Green Coach, National Rail services, or by car.

Gigslutz Top Tip: This year sees local Chelmsford lad FREAK play the Street Stage at Hylands Park. He played his debut gig at tiny local venue Bassment earlier in the year, and recently supported Fidlar at Brixton Academy. If you like your indie-rock loud and lively, make sure you catch him on Sunday.

Memorable Moments: Take your pick from the following list of fabulous headliners: Eminem, Kasabian, The Stone Roses, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Lady Gaga, Stereophonics, The Killers and Beyoncé.

What We Said Last Year: Reviews Editor Dan Bull put together a guide for 2015’s lineup.

Did You Know? Someone threw a bottle of urine at Cher Lloyd during her performance in 2012, causing her to end her set early. Poor girl. People are GRIM.
