FREE DOWNLOAD: Cadenza x Jakwob ‘Queens to Brixton’

Fresh from releasing his debut single ‘Foundation’, which featured the vocal talents of Stylo G and Busy Signal, Oliver Rodigan aka Cadenza returns with ‘Queens to Brixton‘, a huge new collaboration with none other than UK remix king Jakwob.

‘Queens to Brixton’ is a boundary pushing piece of electronic art that takes us on a journey from hypnotic broken-beat rhythms to bass-heavy wobbles and sirens via erratically addictive drum loops, all in under 4 minutes. Sampling Damian Marley’s ‘As We Enter’, the song was a result of a mutual appreciation between the two musicians. Cadenza said,

“A few months back, I heard some of James’ (Jakowb’s) new solo stuff and also the beats he was doing for Simz and it was all based around these really broken beat moody textures. I had some sketches on a similar tip so I shot him a text and we set up a day to work on some ideas and ‘Queens to Brixton’ was the second track we made. The vocal sample you hear in the track is from Damian Marley’s “As We Enter” so we layered that in there and then just built around it.”
