Glastonbury Announces This Year’s Line-up

The Eavises have announced the Glastonbury 2016 line-up – and it’s an absolute belter. Joining previously announced headliners Coldplay, Muse and Adele and Sunday afternoon slot Jeff Lynne’s ELO are the sort of mixed bag you’d expect from the iconic event.

Foals, New Order, Disclosure and Bastille are sure to bring huge crowds, as acts who have either previously headlined festivals or are due to this year. Joining ELO on the legends departments are Earth, Wind & Fire, Cyndi Lauper, Madness and the self-confirmed (via his keyboard player) Art Garfunkel.

Following criticism towards many festivals in the past for a lack of females presence, Glastonbury seem to be paving the way with PJ Harvey, Hinds, Bat For Lashes, Grimes, Ellie Goulding, Laura Mvula and many more performing. With a new album expected soon, The Last Shadow Puppets‘ performance will be an interesting one considering the last time Alex Turner was there he headlined The Pyramid with Arctic Monkeys.

Other regulars Chvrches, Jake Bugg, The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club return, although it’s LCD Soundsystem‘s performance that’s likely to be one of the most talked about; their last Glastonbury performance was just months before they split. Fans of dance can look forward to Fatboy Slim, Underworld and Annie Mac, and there’s Gregory Porter and James Blake for those wanting to chill.

And of course, new music is covered with Blossoms, Låpsley, Floating Points. All of that and we haven’t even reached ZZ Top yet. You can see the entire thing below.

In short, come rain or – let’s face it, it’s going to be rain, but it’s going to be the weekend of the year.
