Welcome to the first Hijacker Records introduction to some of the most exciting electronic music, currently emanating from our cross Atlantic buddies in the USA. Now, it’s a pretty big place so while we don’t know every single beat maker throughout the 50 states, we can promise that you’ll discover some amazing, fresh talent in this monthly update.

Two young guys from Philadephia, Louis Fulton are Tyler Minford and Logan Zoghby who are mixing hard hitting electronica, post-dubstep snarl, R&B intimacy and elements of soulful down tempo chill-trap to make music which is drawing from an impressive spectrum of electronic sub-genres. They’ve recently made a slamming venture into hip hop beat making too and if you’re after a comparison, think Flume, Cashmere Cat and Madeon. Dozing was premiered by Rinse FM a couple of months back, they’ve got more tracks and some free stuff on their soundcloud.

Describing themselves as aggressively handsome overachievers with a combined age of 343 dog years and a mutual love of hot chicks in yoga pants, it’s understandably hard not to like Drew Taggart and Alex Pall aka The Chainsmokers. All year they’ve been bringing the club to some of the hottest around, injecting euphoric hands-in-the-air moments to Icona Pop, BANKS, Smallpools, Daughter, ASTR, Little Daylight and a whole bunch of other. So yes, I guess you could say they’re outrageously prolific remixers. Their originals are pretty sick too, personally I’m hoping for more of their own tunes in 2014, until then check out their official remix of Mikky Ekko’s Kids

Two of the more well known names on this list and it’s fair to say both pretty synonymous with trap music, RL Grime and Baauer were recently on the road with Ryan Hemsworth and bashed this little collab together on the tour bus. RL Grime made his name remixing tunes for the likes of Benny Banassi, Chief Keef, Rihanna and Schlomo while Baauer made the beat behind all those Harlem Shake videos you spent hours on YouTube watching.

All The Girls is the culmination of Option 4 sampling N.E.R.D.’s Everyone Nose and marrying it with a bouncy deep house beat, soulful, glowing synth pads and sex appeal destined to soundtrack the club where Ryan Gosling picks up girls in ‘Crazy Stupid Love’. It’s pretty clear that Brennen Bryarly’s Chicago past has influenced his Option 4 sound, deep house vibes influenced by the windy cities infamous love for underground four to the floor vibrancy.

All I know (or at least think I know) about Saol Álainn is that he’s a 25 year old producer from LA and beyond that we’re just speculating. He’s just created a Facebook page with nothing on it and his website is an interesting treasure hunt for demos and tokens of information which may or may not give you an idea about who this guy is. But it doesn’t matter because Nostroke is a glitchy, alt electro indie pop gem and most certainly the most original and diverse track here. It fuses relaxing, warm fluidity, disorientating swirls and a punctuated mash up of a beat. So much creativity it almost makes me sick.
