INTRODUCING: The Age Of L.U.N.A

If Hip Hop is your poison, let us introduce you to the freshest Hip Hop act of 2015, straight out of the UK – The Age Of L.U.N.A.

With L.U.N.A standing for ‘Live Under No Authority’, the group’s desire for creative freedom is evident from the offset and having an average age of 18 (producer NK-OK is just 15!), The Age Of L.U.N.A certainly have a sound beyond their years. Reminiscent of Hip Hop greats such as Common, A Tribe Called Quest and Fugees, their sound is slick, smooth and laid back and they are set to make their mark on the UK urban scene in 2015. Having shared their debut track ‘Indigo’ back in 2014, which picked up support from 1Xtra’s DJ Semtex and 6 Music’s Giles Peterson, the London based four piece have returned with a brand new track ‘Six Feet Deep’.

Not as gloomy as the title may suggest, the track is a classy, jazz-inspired offering and is one of the catchiest tracks from a new artist/group that we’ve heard in the UK for quite some time. Butch Arkas and Kyote Noir’s flow and lyrical content combine superbly with Daniella Thomas’ soulful vocals, whilst NK-OK’s beat provides a sublime backdrop for the trio to showcase their talents.

Whilst they’ve only currently got two tracks available for us to check out, more are set to follow shortly and having already shown how much quality they possess, we are hugely excited to see what they will follow this up with. Check out ‘Six Feet Deep’ and ‘Indigo’ below, let us know what you think via Twitter and Facebook and watch out for these teens over the rest of the year.
