Introducing Interview: The Imagineers

After the original band members parted ways in 2013, Scottish band The Imagineers are now back with a refreshed sound and new ideas. Fronted by Stevie Young, the band fuse together elements of surf-pop and sweeping cinematic melodies, creating their own unique sound.

We caught up with the band to find out more…

Hi The Imagineers! Welcome to Gigslutz, how are you today?
Hi Gigslutz, we are up to our neck in it in the Imaginarium, but glad the campaign is up and running.

Could you tell us a bit about The Imagineers?
It’s a new incarnation of band with a fresh sound, but has elements of the old sounds throughout.

What’s the story behind your latest single and title-track ‘Utopian Dreams’?
Stevie wanted it to be quite ambiguous and mysterious and as such, it only makes sense in his head.

Your album hits stores in February 2017, but what can people expect to hear, is there a running concept that differs from the single?
There are lots of different themes in the upcoming album and it has plenty for everyone, Imagineers old and new.

What’s the next step for The Imagineers?
Expect a UK tour announcement and some more singles soon!

Who are your top 3 all time artist influences?
Ennio Morricone, David Bowie and Quentin Tarantino.

Can you describe your sound in three words?
Cinematic, dramatic and melodic!

Huge thanks to The Imagineers for answering our questions!

‘Utopian Dreams’, the upcoming album from The Imagineers, is out 24 February 2017.
