Introducing Interview: Vigo Thieves

Having formed back in 2008, Scottish five piece Vigo Thieves have played T In The Park multiple times, supported the likes of The Fratellis and The Courteeners, and have now become known for their catchy, anthemic rock sound.

Having just released their debut album, we caught up with Vigo Thieves to find out more…

Hi Vigo Thieves! Can you please introduce yourselves to our readers?
Hello! We are Vigo Thieves from Wishaw near Glasgow, Scotland.

Can you tell us about your brand new album Heartbeats?
Heartbeats is a collection of eight years’ worth of our most anthemic and uplifting songs, finally put together in one place.

Can you describe your sound in five words for us?
Anthemic, Euphoric, Uplifting, Swirling Choruses.

It was quite a while ago you released your last single – what have you been up to since then?
We have been working on our debut album and working with Pledge Music to help promote it.

Are there any new bands up in Scotland that you’re particularly loving at the moment?
There is a brand new electronic act called KVASIR who has just released a very exciting EP and is playing at King Tut’s New Year Revolution. We’re also really into Crash Club and The Calm Fiasco, who we’re going to see this Saturday night. Oh, and an exciting double act called Saint PHNX!

What’s been your favourite venue to perform in?
We’ve been very lucky to play most of Scotland’s top venues, such as Aberdeen Music Hall, Dunfermline Alhambra,  02 Academy & ABC, but our favourite’s got to be Glasgow’s world famous Barrowlands.

What next for Vigo Thieves? Any plans for 2017?
We’ll work on some more new songs and possibly release them as one off singles or maybe an EP.

Huge thanks to Vigo Thieves for answering our questions!

Heartbeats, the debut album from Vigo Thieves, is out now via Hijacked Recordings.
