Back for another year at the Isle Of Wight Festival, the 2017 edition of the Cirque de la Quirk experience is gearing up to be more gloriously outrageous than ever before.  This year’s theme has been revealed to accommodate those festival goers who are either “The eccentric aristocrat or the rowdy rebels”; however it is up to you to decide where you fit in.

This year’s worry-free world will offer you the chance to “pit your wits against others in a feast of games, puzzles and activities throughout the weekend”. Cirque de la Quirk have also revealed revellers will be given “the chance to try [their] hand at being a circus master or sock wrestling champion – put to the soundtrack of, squelchy beats with a bit of kick every evening!”

Alongside the previously mentioned headliners, Sam and The Womp (remember, ‘Bom, Bom’?) and Dub Pistols – the “pyro circus rave massive” Slamboree Sound System, seven-piece funk-outfit Crinkle Cuts and hip-hop duo Too Many T’s, will all also be performing across the weekend in the save-haven of Cirque de la Quirk.

The community created by the fun-loving atmosphere of Cirque de la Quirk is set to be split into two factions.  Explaining the theme, the whirlwind which promotes both “individuality and rebellion” has explained the grouping system:

“Two Factions:–‘

The Nostalgias; steeped in etiquette and dressed to the nines, the closest thing to aristocracy that anyone could hope for. They enjoy their own company but due to their impulsiveness, their rash and emotive nature they can even rub each other up the wrong way, let alone the other side.

The Mechanicals are a very different animal. Where the Nostalgias shut themselves away with sofas and moustaches, the Mechanicals are curious schemers who reside in the wooded area. They were once the scientists, mathematicians and geniuses of this world but their time in the wasteland and endless need to solve everything that has gone wrong has had an effect. Their yearning for answers has shifted and their thirst for knowledge has been replaced by a thirst for anarchy.”

Which side will you be best suited to: The Nostalgias or The Mechanicals?  Test for yourself at the Cirque de la Quirk experience at the 2017 edition of Isle Of Wight Festival.

Isle Of Wight Festival 2017 takes place between June 8-11 and features headliners Arcade Fire, Run DMC and Rod Stewart.
