‘Spiral Cities’ is the next of Marr’s long list of singles.
The latest track explores ideas within alternative societies and future city centres, which was inspired by ‘Crystal Chain Letters’. Johnny Marr said it is “a book by different architects in the early 20th century, writing and conceptualising the utopian city of the future.” It will carry a B-side, titled ‘Spectral Eyes’.
Uncut recently gave the album an 8/10 and said it is “Possibly the most atmospheric, widescreen guitar album you’ll hear all year.”
Marr will commence his UK tour tonight in Brighton, following his recent London show at the Roundhouse.
100 tickets are available from Rough Trade East, where each will receive a free 7″ ‘Spiral Cities’ vinyl. There will also be the opportunity to win tickets in the near future.
His enigmatic track full of Johnny Marr brilliance is available to listen to, and watch the accompanying music video below.
