LISTEN: Cub Sport release latest single ‘Video’

Australian alt-pop group Cub Sport release latest single ‘Video’, a track in-keeping with the band’s electro-pop sound with the accompanying video pays a tongue-in-cheek homage to celebrities of the past.

A slow-tempoed and somewhat understated track, it maintains the electro-pop sound that has become something of a trademark for Cub Sport throughout their career. Backing vocals provided by fellow Australian Mallrat serve to give the track a level of versatility.

The video for the single is in-keeping within the subtle nature of the track. Visually striking an old school look, it still maintains the bands glamorous persona. The video is filled with references to famous faces of the past who, “rose from an invasion of privacy and built and empire”, most notably referencing the 2000’s. Singer and front-man Tim Nelson stated, “I drew inspiration from these icons for both the concept and styling of the clip. For me, ‘Video’ represents a moment of taking back my power and believing in myself”.

This release comes ahead of a run of UK dates for Cub Sport, tickets for which are available via the bands official website.
