Welcome to the world of FLING’s new single ‘Annie’ an off-kilter, groovy and melodic love song. They segue from whistle-along Rolling Stones summer of love vibes to T-Rex musicianship to the ‘don’t give a f**k’ attitude of the Fat Whites with ease; marking their influences clearly but bringing a unmistakably individual angle to proceedings.
The anonymous ‘Annie’ stands for each lost weekend love and nightclub romance, as lead singer Charles explains; ‘Annie is a pure simple song of love and adulation. For the person you see across the room, for the young opportunist who falls in love someone new every weekend.’
The band are embarking on the Get Flung tour, their largest yet, from September to October. They kick off the shows however on the Dance To The Radio Stage at Leeds Festival on Thursday 24th August – the only live music on site that day – and are sure to blow the roof off.
