London trio, and Gigslutz favourites, Girl Ray have previously charmed us with singles ‘Preacher’ and ‘Stupid Things’, and are now back to treat our ears with a sparkling new offering prior to the release of their debut album next month.
Another slice of twinkling garage-pop, ‘Don’t Go Back At Ten’ is filled with shimmering hooks and the trio’s lush harmonies, creating an utterly sunny delight about the enduring bonds of friendship. Of the track, Poppy from the band explains:
“After a break-up I was super low, and as clichéd and teen-movie as it sounds, it was truly my friends who got me through it, making sure that I didn’t just mope about the whole time eating pots of cottage cheese and crying. I guess I wrote this one to cheer myself up in a way.”
