LISTEN: Hannah V remixes Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Swimming Pools’

Having recently released her debut EP Version 2.0, Hannah V has wasted little time in getting back into the studio and bringing us more great music. This time, the clasically trained musician has shared her remix of Kendrick Lamar’s huge hit ‘Swimming Pools’ and having totally turned the track on it’s head, it gets our stamp of approval.

Talking about the track, Hannah said,

“I was having a really shitty week. I had to move out of the house that I had called home for the last 5 years. The first place that felt like HOME in over 15 years. And added to that, I was too skint to get fucked up! I couldn’t even drink the pain away!! So, instead – this remix was born. I think you can sense the heaviness and sadness in this. The beautiful thing about music is that it’s a healer. I feel a million times better after having finished this! I only hope I did King Kendrick justice!”

Combining her classical training with contemporary production techniques ensures that every Hannah V production is unique in it’s own right and ‘Swimming Pools’ is no different. Providing a much more laid back, jazz-influenced feel than Kendrick’s original, Hannah definitely brings her own vibe and closing with some added piano provides the icing on the cake.
