LISTEN: Jhene Aiko shares new track ‘The Pressure’

Best known in the UK for her single ‘The Worst’ and ‘From Time’, her collaboration with Drake on his 2013 album Nothing Was the Same, Jhene Aiko returns with her brand new track ‘The Pressure’, which is the second track to appear from her forthcoming album Souled Out.

The track, produced by Fisticuffs, features a laid back R&B beat and soulful vocals that grab your attention as soon as Aiko begins with the lyrics “I care about you baby, more than you’ll ever know’. Whilst discussing a tumultuous relationship that sounds like it could very much be on the rocks, Aiko’s vocals are perfectly complemented by echoey, atmospheric guitars and sweet sounding, harmonious keys throughout. With a vocal style that is distinctly ‘Jhene Aiko’, the LA based singer-songwriter who has collaborated with Drake, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar in recent times is set for big things this year and with her debut album set to be released towards the end of the year, the hype around Jhene Aiko will surely only increase which makes her a certain ‘one to watch’.
