LISTEN: Kim Gordon shares new single ‘Hungry Baby’

Today, Kim Gordon releases ‘Hungry Baby’, the latest single from No Home Record, her highly anticipated solo debut due out this Friday, October 11 on Matador Records. ‘Hungry Baby’ builds a wall of ferocious futuristic punk around Gordon’s iconic vocals, a potent reminder of her massive and enduring sway over alternative music.

No Home Record is already being heralded as ”hungry, modern, and thrilling” (Q ****) and “a superb genre-spanning solo debut” (The Skinny*****), cementing it as an essential entry and watershed moment in one of the most celebrated and boundary pushing careers in rock music. The album is available for pre-order HERE.

‘Hungry Baby’ follows lead single and contemporary hospitality anthem ‘Air BnB’, for which Gordon created her own video, which you can see HERE. In advance of the album’s release, the legendary musician also collaborated with Berlin-based artist and filmmaker Loretta Fahrenholz to create a short video series. The collection includes the official videos for ‘Sketch Artist’,  and shorts for ‘Paprika Pony’ and ‘Don’t Play It’, with more to be released.

No Home Record was produced largely by Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Ariel Pink, Sky Ferreira) at Sphere Ranch in Los Angeles, along with contributions from Shawn Everett (Jim James, The Voidz, The War on Drugs) and composer/filmmaker Jake Meginsky (L’appel Du Vide). Gordon’s solo debut album’s title is a nod to the French-Belgian director Chantal Akerman’s film No Home Movie

Since co-founding the legendary Sonic Youth in the early 80’s, Kim Gordon has remained at the nexus of music, fashion, art and (more recently) books and film. In the past few years alone, Gordon has debuted in the #1 spot on the NY Times Bestseller List with her 2015 memoir Girl In A Band, acted alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Jonah Hill under the direction of Gus Van Sant (in 2018’s Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot), released music and performed as one half of Body/Head alongside Bill Nace, and opened multiple solo-exhibitions at internationally renowned museums. In addition, SXSW recently announced Gorden as the Keynote Speaker for the 2020 Music Conference.
