LISTEN: Liz Lawrence releases new single ‘California Screaming’

Liz Lawrence has released a brand new single ‘California Screaming’. Her infectious solo album ‘Pity Party’ was released last October to much acclaim. It was packed with a wealth of songs documenting the angst endured by modern living and embraced a narrative relating to her own experience as well as the lives of other twenty-somethings surrounding her trying to do the best they can in a complex world.

‘California Screaming’ expands that theme into a wider sphere and looks at the anxiety inducing and addictive cycle of global rolling news.
On the track Liz said “I was sitting in a Mexican restaurant in Pomona, California, watching Fox News on the TV screens, one on every wall. The onslaught of disaster news, about killer bees and rapidly escalating deaths from vaping, kicked off a 10-day anxiety attack that didn’t subside until I landed back in London. I remember thinking that if I stayed in that world of breaking news, I would never be able to leave the house.”

After a sold out UK headline tour and a month supporting Bombay Bicycle Club across the UK & Ireland, Liz Lawrence has announced a new date for autumn this year at London’s Lafayette on October 7th, with more dates to be announced.
