If you like the aggressiveness of Kasabian and the sparse guitar lines of The Vaccines, then you’ll love this new track by Scottish indie band The Phantoms.

The tone of Colin Simpson’s vocals in ‘Shadows’ is addictive – almost like he’s shouting the words in your ear, it’s great. The guitar work is infectious, with shades of the likes Foo Fighters, but not as thrashy.

Though not entirely unique in its sound, ‘Shadows’ is a solid example of the great guitar bands that Britain has to offer. And I can imagine it won’t be long before these guys are selling out venues across the country.
