LISTEN: Retro Video Club share new single ‘Addicted’

One of the most exciting bands in Scotland right now, Retro Video Club last week released the follow up to last year’s ‘3AM’. ‘Addicted’ is out now on Manchester’s LAB Records. As with previous singles, it’s another driving indie anthem that can’t fail to get the crowd bouncing. “Lyrically it’s a song about being dead into someone,” says singer Liam Allison, “only to find out you’re the person on the side. The second choice.”

To mark the release, the band are set to play three sold-out hometown shows at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s (the first time a band has ever done this). They are also heading out on a European tour supporting Barns Courtney later this month (dates below).

After holing up in a studio for almost a year refining their sound, the band’s debut single ‘Psycho’ was added to both Spotify’s ‘Indie List’ and ‘Hot New Bands’ playlists. Follow up single ‘Chemistry’ has now been streamed to over a million people – just one week after its release, the band sold out the 650-capacity Liquid Room in Edinburgh.

Having played their biggest ever shows last summer, with a sold-out King Tuts in Glasgow and Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens Summer Sessions (alongside Bastille and The Vaccines), Retro Video Club toured alongside RedFaces and Blackwaters on a shared headline tour which saw them playing in England for the first time. This year they will appear at Live At Leeds, Newcastle’s Hit The North and Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festivals.

‘Addicted’ is out now via LAB Records.
