LISTEN: Surfer Blood – ‘Frozen’

Surfer Blood have unveiled a track of their upcoming album, titled ‘Frozen’.

‘Frozen’ follows on from the darker ‘Six Flags in F or G, and classic Surfer Blood track ‘Matter of Time’. The band are tackling heavier themes such as their friends and families dealings with cancer, and Parkinson’s disease, but in a more playful, celebratory way. In ‘Taking Care Of Eddy’, Pitt has injected some of his girlfriend’s great uncle’s playfulness to overarch the heavier message.

The band’s new album Snowdonia is due for release on February 3 via Joyful Noise/Secretly Canadian. It’s the first to be written and mixed solely by frontman John Paul Pitts since their debut Astro Coast, and also the first since guitarist Thomas Fekete passed away from cancer.
