LISTEN: Violet Skies shares brand new track ‘Liar’

Having enjoyed a successful 2014, singer/songwriter Violet Skies returns with some new material for 2015 in the shape of ‘Liar’.

Produced by Ed Tullet, ‘Liar’ is a hugely immersive track, with drawn-out, flowing strings flirting with a sharp drum beat in a slightly more classical style than we have seen from her previously, but considering that she lists Joni Mitchell, Sting and Paul Simon and the soundscapes of James Blake, Portishead and Massive Attack as some of her musical influences, the fact that she is not afraid to attempt different styles should come as no surprise.

Coming from a small town in South Wales, 2014 was more than Violet Skies could have wished for with the release of an EP and an album, a performance at Glastonbury with BBC Introducing and a sold out UK tour. With a live show coming up at ‘Awkward Live’ at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington on March 11th and an as yet untitled album due for release later this year, Violet Skies is set to have an exciting 2015 and we are definitely looking forward to hearing more from this exciting artist.
