LIVE: Crystal Castles – Electric Ballroom, London 15.11.16

After the release of their new album,  Amnesty (I) back in August, Crystal Castles – formed of Ethan Kath and newcomer Edith Frances – are currently touring. From the moment Edith walked on stage her presence was un-missable and powerful. Straight away, she picked up the microphone stand and the audience gave one hell of a scream. She continued the set with a mixture of songs both from their new album and of songs from the past from the time when Alice Glass was in the band.

Throughout the gig, she jumped around the stage, owning it, whilst the set was intensified with the electronic sounds along with intense flashing lights.

By the second song, she chucked a bottle of water over herself and the audience, to which she was greeted with yet more cheering. Multiple times she held the microphone upside down and made it clear who was in charge.

They have such a unique sound, and merge electronic sounds into an almost poppy feel which makes them a perfect introduction for people into electronic music. This band is more than just a gig to watch live, they made it into a performance, and one not to forget.
