Reading & Leeds have announced the first group of acts to be performing at next year’s festivals, including first headliner Muse.
Muse have played some of the largest stages across the world over their 22 year career. The trio last headlined the festivals in 2011, when they played their second album Origin of Symmetry in full. Now with last year’s Drones under their belts, they will be be returning to the main stages to put on another landmark moment in their career.
Joining Muse on the line up will be Major Lazer, Bastille, Architects, Tory Lanez, At The Drive-In, Glass Animals, Against The Current, Andy C, Danny Brown and While She Sleeps.
Both Architects and Major Lazer are a UK festival exclusive, so will only be heading to the fields of Leeds and Reading this summer.
On the announcement, Muse said: “We’re very excited to be playing Reading and Leeds again. More news about our plans for 2017 coming in the new year.”
Director of Festival Republic Melvin Benn commented: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Muse as the first headliner for Reading and Leeds 2017. Their incredible live show promises to be an unforgettable performance – we have so much more to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up.”
Hundreds of more acts across all 8 stages are still to be announced.
The festival will take place over August 25-27 2017 at Branham Park, Leeds and Richfield Avenue, Reading.
