Musicians Against Homelessness Host Event In the House Of Lords

The rock ‘n’ roller politicians have named the band MP4, setting aside their differences to raise money for the homeless.

Once again, music unites us all in attempt to better the world. MP4 will be the first music act to perform in the House Of Lords, on 25th November. It will follow the release of their five track album MP4, EP5, composed by Robin Millar CBE. The whole EP is available via Revolver Records on Friday 26th October.

‘Do You See Me?’ is the title of the main single, which is written from the perspective of the homeless.

The band spoke about the release, “the MPs are asking the public to download the EP and donate to Crisis, the national charity for homeless people. Not only did we agree to their request, but also we pledged to release a record to highlight the cause. Homelessness is a complex issue requiring more political action. But we also know, as a cross-party group of MPs, that to get results we need to keep awareness high. That is why we didn’t hesitate to answer the challenge from MAH.”

In 2016, the campaign was launched by Emma Rule, backed by the one and only Alan McGee – owner of creation records, which signed the likes of Oasis, Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain. There has been multiple events taken place over the years, involving Trainspotting author, Irvine Welsh, Happy Mondays, James, Cast and The Buzzcocks.

Alan McGee: “Britain rocked against the menace of racism in the 70s, now British bands are rocking against a modern scandal – homelessness. We won’t stop until it is eradicated.”

MP4 was founded as MP3 in 2004 by SNP MP Pete Wishart on keyboards, former Labour MP Ian Cawsey on bass guitar and vocals and Conservative MP Sir Greg Knight on drums.

The EP is available from all mainstream outlets, so go check it out. You can also view the official video below. To donate to Crisis, visit their website, here.
