NEW TRACK: Alex Lucas – ‘Fade Away’

‘Fade Away’ is the new single from former frontman of The DuBarrys Alex Lucas. Released on the 26th of January, the song showcases Alex’s ability to turn lo-fi beats and beautiful vocals in to an optimistic tune about searching for love and magic.

After his departure from the DuBarrys, Alex moved back to Belgium to start his own musical project under his own name. This independent move has clearly paid off; it’s allowed him to create relaxed, dreamy tunes like ‘Fade Away’ and the track’s accompanying video is equally as mesmerising. Watching drops of blue metallic paint run down a stranger’s back is oddly satisfying, as synth samples, gentle percussion, and laid back keyboard and guitar play out over the hypnotic visuals.

With its allusions to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, ‘Fade Away’ is a track that encourages listeners to chase romance and fantasy, but not to get caught up in the madness of it all. With poetic lyrics, sounds, and ideas; 2017 looks set to be a bright year for the newly solo Alex Lucas. Let him charm you with his “illusionary fixation” by listening to ‘Fade Away’ below.
