New Track: Demob Happy – ‘Wash It Down’

Brighton-based rockers Demob Happy have been busy this year – with news of a debut album on its way, they have now previewed the album’s first single ‘Wash It Down’. The band have been gathering much attention throughout the sphere of the music world, including the likes of NME and Zane Lowe, and it’s plain to see why upon hearing ‘Wash It Down’.

‘Wash It Down’ begins with an infectious bass riff that is then swiftly joined by the guitar; power surges within the first ten seconds preparing you for a three-minute masterpiece. It is eerily poised, like a Darlia meets Queens Of The Stone Age love-child, with vocals that fit the tone of the track perfectly. ‘Wash It Down’ finds its way to your eardrums and clings on without any intention of relaxing its grips, keeping you enthralled for the whole ride.

This is an all round well-mixed track which came as a result of the band joining forces with Antonhy Theaker (Pulled Apart By Horses, The Horrors), making it even more enjoyable to the ear. ‘Wash It Down’ draws to a close with those charismatic vocals of Matt Marcantonio, rounding off the track in good fashion.

Following on from the release of their EP earlier this year, featuring hard-hitting tracks such as ‘Fizz’, ‘Young and Numb’ and ‘Succubus’, ‘Wash It Down’ adds a real sense of variety to Demob Happy‘s plethora of tracks – without straying too much – making it a track that holds key aspects of the band’s sound and appeal; one which the fans will love for sure.
