New Track: Dirty White Fever – ‘7.83 Hz’

With gigs at the Great Escape Festival and their own tour lined up, Brighton duo Dirty White Fever have debuted their latest single ‘7.83 Hz’ in a special London performance with special guests Dolls and Oh!GunQuit.

The debut single premiered on Clash Music last week and includes two tracks, the first being ‘7.83 Hz’, which hears the combination of thick, filthy guitar riffs with an aggressive drum and vocal assault. A perfect introduction to this duo claiming to be “another two piece louder than a five piece”:  a statement I thought to be true upon first hearing the band.

It’s easy to say that Dirty White Fever draw similarities to another extremely popular two-piece; however, combine this with the way in which the band merge this rock and roll onslaught with hip-hop beats, and there is a distinct individuality within the music. For this reason, the concluding track ‘Hip Hop’ is very appropriately named as it blends the band’s scuzzed out sounds with this and, placed in a live setting, the track truly emphasises the passion and anger in duo’s music.

With their full on, audacious attitude in both image and music, it’s certain that we’re going to be hearing a lot more from this duo in the future, following the release of this single.

‘7.83 Hz’ is out now on Goodbye Weirdo Records.
