Australian newcomer Fetes is a solo project for Christian Campano of Sydney-based garage band Food Courts, who are set to support Hinds in May. And, although it may be all too easy to hail him as Australia’s perhaps more sun-drenched but equally melancholic answer to The Stone Roses, recent release ‘Seasonal’ indicates there’s much more to Campano as a songwriter than to settle for being a cardboard cutout.

Claiming to try and incite a Third Summer Of Love (certainly no small ‘fete’- hur hur), ‘Seasonal’ certainly does well to capture the currently much-anticipated (if often questionable) mood of sitting in a festival field, sipping on a warm beer and wondering whether it was the aforementioned beverage that drenched you without warning at the previous set…

Boasting languid vocals that sail over the backdrop of ‘chiming, blissed out guitar dream pop’, ‘Seasonal’ is a perfectly laid back, welcome addition to any summer playlist.
