New Track: Grounders – ‘Drawing Space’

Toronto-born synth pop four piece Grounders have a sound reminiscent of Tame Impala, Arcade Fire or ’60s baroque poppers, The Zombies, but with a mellow and ethereal edge.

Their latest single ‘Drawing Space’, lifted from their debut self-titled album, blends bright guitar riffs over a steady beat for a sound which is summery fresh and beautifully unusual in equal measure. It’s a song ready for hazy hot days on bleached seaside promenades with its intoxicating, smooth yet quirky sound.

The band have spoken of how their personal interest in transcendental meditation has influenced their creative process and this definitely shows in the other-worldly vibe that emanates from their music. Despite being an album written between a second hand van and lead singer Davis’ bedroom, this single hints that their debut LP will be something special.

Grounders’ debut eponymous LP is out now.
