South-Carolina trio Heyrocco have been gracing the eyes and ears of many since their emergence out of their parents’ garage five years ago, with their dark energy intriguing many in their wake.

Following on from last year’s debut album Teenage Movie Soundtrack, the band have returned to us with an offering that comes in the form of a new EP, Waiting On Cool.

‘Yeah’ is a glimpse into the sounds of Waiting On Cool. Beginning in an eruption of energy, it is gripping right from the start. Fuelled by fuzz-laden guitars and relentlessly paced drums, ‘Yeah’ hits hard before dropping into a collected calmness amongst the chaos in the verses, where the bass becomes prominent.

Heyrocco offer us a healthy mix of energetic vibes with nods towards to the likes of a less raw Fidlar, accompanied by a gritty coating that could be found in Nirvana’s ‘Love Buzz’.

At just two minutes and thirty eight seconds, ‘Yeah’ achieves a lot in a short amount of time; it leaves you enthralled in the party that Heyrocco are having, with a lust for more.

Waiting On Cool, the new EP from Heyrocco, is out now. And new single ‘Yeah’ is set for release 2 September.
