New Track: Parlement – ‘Blood’

Said to have spent a number of years “harnessing their craft for the larger stage” behind the scenes, Spanish based rock band – Parlement – have now come to the fray in full force. Sitting comfortably in the noise rock, riff-and-hook-heavy pool of bands alongside The Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age and pretty much any Jack White project, their new single ‘Blood’ is a storming anthem ready made for the festival season.

The video itself is ridiculous in its main theme, like all good videos should be; an awkward family wedding turning very rapidly into a full blown shoot-out. I’m not sure if there are meant to be any connotations with the supporting imagery to the track, but the chaos seems to reflect the group suitably with a violent outburst in tandem with the energy and pace of the music . Vocally there is some real strength in this track, perfectly complementing the pulsating, monotonous and primal riff throughout and ending the track with the climactic guitar solo, worthy of the guitar rock greats.

‘Blood’ is taken from Parlement’s forthcoming album, expected to drop in spring 2015, and if ‘Blood’ is anything to go by then it is definitely one to look out for this year.
